Dear Readers,
After months of contemplation, I’ve decided to say goodbye to my blog. *sniff, sniff* I’m finding that blogging about design has settled further down on my priority list…if that’s not been obvious by my lack of posts. My time is taken up more than ever before…three teens now in the house (delightful so far, but time consuming…lots of eye-to-eye conversations involved that I wouldn’t miss for the world), ramping up homeschooling of our special needs daughter, and of course, I can’t leave out the two middle girls who need their Mommy’s attention as well.
I’ll still be decorating obviously, and will forever be rearranging, tweaking, and will continue to be inspired by your projects and pictures. You can still keep up with what’s going on over here at our fixer farmhouse via Pinterest and Houzz. I still want to share, but just in a way that works better with my life. Hopefully I’ll see you over there! This blog led me into a fun, surprising journey, and I’m so glad you were all a part of it with me. Thank you!
Love to all,
Rie

You are one of my favorite bloggers! I will miss your entries but certainly do understand.
ReplyDeleteIt's totally understandable and sounds like the right choice for you and your sweet family. It's so sad for the rest of us who love your blog, though. You've been warm, godly, and inspiring. I might have to go through the archives RIGHT now. Sob sob! Blessings ♥
ReplyDeleteI totally understand Rie!! It is hard to juggle all of it, but I will still enjoy following you through Pinterest and Houzz! You are such a lovely example in your life...family does come first and you can't get that time back:).
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Julia
Oh, no... I have hardly got to know you and now I see you will not be blogging. I will peruse your past posts here at your lovely place :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes!
Kindly, Lorraine
I know exactly what you mean! It's hard to blog when you have a full schedule. It was much easier when I started several years ago and now it's hard to get in post due to my daughter growing up and more and more activities! So yes UNDERSTANDABLE! Wishing you the best juggling all that comes with a growing family and home! Pinterest is still a fun place to post pics and get inspired! See you around and many blessings! xo nancy elizabeth
ReplyDeleteI wondered where you had been hiding, Rie. I am sad that you are not going to blog anymore but I am glad that it is for the reasons you stated here. Family comes first- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHome and Harmony will be missed, Rie, but I certainly understand your decision. Look forward to following you now via Pinterest!
ReplyDeleteTake care,

ReplyDeleteHow refreshing to know that someone in this world has their priorities straight! Now, if I can only figure this Pinterest thing out to view the progress on your home. I know it will be lovely. Gonna miss you and your sweet family.
ReplyDeleteREalmente me apena que no sigas escribiendo, apenas hace una semana que te sigo, pero tienes toda la razon la familia es primero. Dios les bendiga. Tu me inspiraste a crear mi blog presupuesto101.blogspot.com. Gracias Rie.
ReplyDeleteGodspeed on your ventures at home Rie! I'll miss your posts. Hoping that one day (like Anna from PleasantViewSchoolhouse) that you'll find time to check in again. I'll follow your posts in pinterest and houzz from now on.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and your family. I will miss your blot.
ReplyDeleteI kind of thought this decision might be coming down the pike for you. It makes perfect sense. Your life is calling you!! I look forward to keeping up with you over at Pinterest.

:(
ReplyDeleteWell good for you! Boo for us though! I have always enjoyed your posts so much but understand completely that you need to focus elsewhere. I'm guessing that making that decision was a relief. Good luck to you and I'll be watching you on pinterest as always!
ReplyDeleteWill miss your entries, but I totally understand. I started a blog this year and have already given it up because of the time it took away from what was important to me (which was supposedly what I was blogging about!). Best of luck to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteYou will be missed ... but those special moments with your almost adult kids ... are laying a foundation for a wonderful friendship when they are adults. Our kids are 27 and 30 and we all are great friends.
ReplyDeleteAs others have said, I will miss this blog too but completely understand. I haven't posted on my blog in almost two months for similar reasons. My son turned 15, started high school, got a girlfriend and I feel like I'm needed as much as ever. That combined with everything else going on (and I'm not renovating a house:) and I just had to take a step back. I will post when I get the urge and that's it. Glad we still have other ways to follow your beautiful ideas. Wishing you the best!
ReplyDeleteDear Rie,
ReplyDeleteI was a young bride when I first stumbled onto your blog. It was very refreshing and encouragement to see your love for the Lord in your life & to see your desire to be a loving mother and wife. You also inspired me when I painted & decorated my first little laundry room. I have been married for almost two years now (cant believe it !) and will really really miss you. I cant believe you are stopping, BUT Im so glad your family is more important to you then this blog. Thanks for your humble example. :)
So sad to see you go, but I admire your dedication to your family. Wishing you many blessings!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blogs for over a year. I have never left a comment until today. I have enjoyed seeing all your posts. You have a beautiful family and home! I will follow you on pinterst. You have many inspiring ideas! All the best.

I will miss your beautiful blog, but one of the reasons you always inspired me is b/c you seemed to make great choices for your life and family - so this is no different! I look forward to following your pins. Thanks for all of the inspiration you have given - both about home and homeschooling. I wish you the best!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be missed! I understand completely as my posts are sporadic at best. Family comes first. Wishing you the best.
ReplyDeleteSo impressed. Love you. Thanks for being so instrumental in helping me start up my own blog. I'll forever be grateful. The past two years of writing has been a healing balm for me. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed your blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing...you will be missed!! We understand...FAMILY FIRST!
ReplyDeleteI will greatly miss your blog!!! You've inspired me on many occasions and wish you the best of blessings!
ReplyDeleteIt is the way it should be. Blessings to you & your family. I am glad I had the opportunity to take a peek at your beautiful home & "meet" your sweet family. May the LORD bless you in your focus.
ReplyDeleteI'm following you on Pinterest!
Happy Pace :0)
Awww, I'm sad to hear this but certainly understand. :( I hope you'll upload photos of your finished renovations to your Pinterest because I am a follower. ;)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and your sweet family, Rie! Thank you so much for sharing your world with us... I, for one, have been inspired by you in many, many ways! ~xx
ReplyDeleteI will miss your blog, but am keeping up with you on Pinterest. As a mom of six, one with significant special needs, I completely understand and commend your priorities! God bless!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand Rie. I will miss you but I have also been pulling away from blogging for the same reasons...homelife needs more of my tender care. I do not pinterest so I will miss you, but I wish you the peace that surpasses all understanding in the days ahead. Time with our children is precious and goes by way too fast. ox
ReplyDeleteOh I will really miss your blog too. I enjoyed seeing the changes you've made in both of your homes. I also love hearing about your children. I don't look at pininterest either.
ReplyDeleteMy iPad went to post before I wanted it to. Touchy key board. Anyway, I know you're a busy lady, sending up good thoughts for you and your beautiful family!!
ReplyDeleteKathy
So sad. I am like many others that only found you recently. I have loved your blog and have read many of your older posts. I follow you on Pinterest and will look forward to seeing your home progress there. I have 9 children and completely understand that some things just have to give.

Devon

ReplyDeleteOh Rie! I'm so sad but am completely in support of your decision. It's hard to blog and give your full attention to your family! You are wonderful example of putting your most important priorities first, and I love you for that. The best of luck to you in all you do! You have certainly been an inspiration to me!
ReplyDeleteI adore your blog!! I will miss your refreshing decorating and posts. How do you access your Houzz account? We, your faithful readers, will miss you!

ReplyDeleteHello Rie,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, but I thought you might find it interesting that I found your blog only after I found your music!
I love you and your husbands christian music- Are you doing anymore music? My family have Vol, 1 and Vol. 2 Scripture songs and we'd hate to miss any more that you make! How can I get in touch for your music endeavors?
In Him
Karla
Hello Karla,
DeleteWe haven't recorded music lately, although we do have a bunch of hymns set to new music that we've written. If we do get around to recording more, we'll make the songs available via bluebehemoth.com.
We have two hymns I made available on this blog, if you are interested in them. Here are the links to those:
